Lang Keeper Gathers At 2nd
Attempt |
Lang Go Close |
This was the proverbial game of two halves as Cambuslang seemed a
bit out of sorts in the opening 45 minutes, but some words of wisdom at half
time seemed to turn the game around and Cambuslang produced some fine passing
play.
Cambuslang fell behind after some sloppy defensive play. A hopeful
ball into the box was headed home from 6 yards the Vics player was totally
unmarked and had all the time in the world to pick his spot.

Cambuslang weren't behind for long. A few minutes later and
striker Paul Brown picked the ball up 25 yards from goal and he unleashed a
shot that flew past the Vics goalie and into the top corner, a stunning finish
from the Lang man. The same player should have put Lang in front. 1 on 1 with
the Vics keeper Broonie delayed the shot which allowed the defender time to get
back and put in a tackle.
Cambuslang did gain the lead though, just before the break.
Another fine strike this time from the boot of LANG 11. His effort every bit as
good as Browns.

Cambuslang Rangers with the Skinner
Cup |
The second half seen Cambuslang put some fine moves together and
seemed a little bit more organised. Although they failed to add to their tally
the performance was the most important at this stage of the season.
Some fine play involving Lang's 12 +10 who linked up well with 12
bursting into the box before squaring to 10 but he fired over from 12 yards.
Cambuslang introduced a couple of players
Cambuslang should have had a couple of spot kicks in the 2nd half,
the first was when Brown was upended in the box but the ref awarded the free
kick the other way. A more solid appeal was waived away when young Darren Moore
was flattened by the Vics keeper but yet again the ref was unimpressed and play
raged up the other end with
Lang ran down the clock to collect the Skinner Cup.
