Cambuslang picked up another point in this tough Superleague
season and it was a wel deserved point at that. Shotts has never been an easy
place to get anything so a 2-2 draw was a good and fair result. The Lang had to
come from behind twice in this match a match which showed a vast improvement
from previous games.
The home side had most of the play in the first half but Lang
keeper Rowna was doing his bit to keep them out when he produced 2 excellent
saves to deny Shotts attempts at goal.
On the half hour mark though they eventually found away to goal,
McCormick the scorer. The lead only lasted 7 minutes as Lang skipper Billy
Holmes prodded the ball home after a thunderous strike by Alan McCrae came back
off the bar.
Shotts regained the lead in the 2nd hlaf when Kirkwood nodded home
a McInulty corner on 53 minutes. Cambuslang pressed and pushed Shotts back for
the remainder of the game. Substitute Paterson saw his shot deflected but lucky
for the Lang it still found itself nestling in the back of the net for a well
deserved share of the spoils.
