Cambuslang Rangers 0-2 Kirkintilloch
Rob Roy
Central Region 1st
Division
At
Cambuslang Rangers went down by 2 goals to nil to league leaders
Rob Roy on Saturday but will be kicking themselves at the missed chances during
the game. This was probably one of Cambuslang's better performances of the
season but some outstanding goal keeping prevented Cambuslang taking anything
from the game.
In the end it took some poor defending at the first goal and a
lack of concentration at the second to secure the 3 points for the visitors.
Any other day Rab Wyatt could have had a hat trick and Rob Roy
buried before half time but
Cambuslang made just the one change form the side that won at
Perthshire last week, Patrick dropped to the bench, his starting slot taken by
last weeks scorer Rab Wyatt. New signing Zander McMillan kept his place up
front after impressing as a trialist.

McGuigan Clears The Danger |
Cambuslang almost made a dream start, after 30 seconds Wyatt
latched onto some sloppy defending and found himself in on goal.
There was very little goal mouth action early on in the match as
the game was played out mostly in the middle of the park. On 23 minutes Wyatt
unleashed a thunderous drive but the keeper once again thwarted the Lang
striker with another top drawer save. On the 37 minutes yet again Wyatt saw an
effort well saved by
Cambuslang fell behind in the 3rd minute of first half stoppage
time, where the time came from only the ref can answer. It was a poor goal to
concede after all the hard work put in. Chang seemed to waltz past the Lang midfield
and then fired in a shot that flew past Fusari in the Lang goal and give Rob
Roy an unlikely interval lead.

The first notable incident in the 2nd half came when
Fusari was booked for venting his frustration at the referee. The visitors made
a change after 55 minutes. Ex-Lang striker Stuart Gauley coming on to replace
McCauley, but it wasn’t a happy return to Somervell as he was to sent off later
in the game.
Lang went close and again it was Wyatt with the effort but it was
well saved by
Nolan was involved minutes later this time he went in late on
Gauley who reacted to the challenge by pushing Nolan so the ref had no option
but to show a 2nd yellow followed by the red and Gauley’s
involvement was over after only 9 minutes on the park.
