                                                                               DOAKIE QUITS LANG

Doakie (3rd from right back row) In the Sectional Cup Winning Side of 2001

Lang legend Graham Doak has called time on his 2nd spell at Somervell Park.

Graham said “After a total of 11 years in two spells at the club, yesterday I informed Wardy that my time was up and I've decided to move on.

I've made so many good friends at the club over the years, none more so than Wardy, Billy and current crop of players and I wish them all the very best for the rest of this season and beyond.

I've experienced the good times and the bad times at the club, promotion, relegation, Premier league, bottom league , collected some much cherished league championship and cup medals, skippered the team on many occasions and I can say I wouldn't change much (apart from maybe a wee run to the Scottish Cup final that year we reached the quarters but I'm just being selfish now!!).

It's a great club with a great history and deserves to be playing in the super leagues with the big boys, and I'm sure we'll be back there before long!!

I will miss the place badly, Its been a massive part of my life but like all good things, they have to end sometime. I thought the time was right to step aside and see what the younger guys can do. I leave on good terms and I’m sure I will be around
